  1. It was built as a caberet, in 1889 by Joseph Oller a who, at that time, already owned the Paris Olympia, a music hall at 28, Blvd. des Capucines, in the 9th arrondissement Paris.

    The "Red Windmill" from which the place takes its name is just a decoration. The building has always been a caberet.
