  1. I miss the the RM buses but due to dumb regulations we are no longer allowed to put ourselves in any sort of danger because we might just want to sue

  2. They were out of date!

The buses were built to an obsolete design, half-cab rear platform. When they were new rear engined types, with front entrances, which could be operated as driver-only 'buses were coming into service in other British Cities.  The newest vehicles of the type are now 40 years old, and no manufacturer would contemplate building a new vehicle to a design first introduced 80 years ago.

They are considered dangerous, they have no doors and people could have accidents boarding or alighting whilst the 'bus is in traffic.

All the new 'buses in London, and the rest if Europe, are low floor easy-access types, which a wheelchair or buggy can be pushed straight onto without being folded down, the routemaster does not meet these criterion.

  3. I thought it was because it made it too easy for people to jump on without paying a fare. Also, to stop people avoiding fares, they had to have a conductor too. So it was probably budget cuts as well.
