  1. United Nations is a multilateral, membership organization.  It is not an independent legal body.  It was involved in Cold War because its members where involved in Cold War.

  2. The United Nations was instrumental in the controlling the arms race during the Cold War preventing any major conflict to occur.

  3. The two superpowers of the Cold War - the US and USSR - were both members of the UN Security Council, the international body responsible for making critical decisions regarding international peace and security.

Hence, (as has already been noted above), the UN was naturally drawn into the Cold War by way of its member states and their own involvement in the conflict, and the power of vetoes and political rivalries through the Security Council.

  4. Is Human Rights Watch funded by Mossad ? MI 6 ? or by CIA ?

I just read this article, and I checked HRW website, It  is NOT covering Human Rights violations in UK and US and Israel as vigorous as to other countries.

Is Human Rights Watch Caving to the Israeli Lobby?

  5. Because they had extra space heaters

  6. They were involved because the UN Charter states that they are to try to resolve differences between nations.  Any member state can bring up a grievance to the UN.  Try obtaining a copy of the UN Charter since it is an original resource for your project.
