  1. I think it was created to discourage religious and racist remarks.


  2. It was introduced to protect players of racist remarks. It is a way of ending racism in sport, especially for indigenous players. It was introduced in 1995 because of continuing complaints from indigenous players who were getting racist verbal abuse.

    Racism was a hard thing to deal with for players Michael Long said:

       " Racism denies people the fundamental human right to judged by their character, by what is inside. This is why it's not easy to experience a lifetime of racial abuse, be constantly reminded of it and yet be expected to simply ignore it"

    It states that all AFL players must not vilify other players based on their religion, race, colour, s*x, sexual orientation or other characteristics.
