Question:

Why was the entire Koran revealed all at once?

Hi. I saw this question somewhere else on answers and it made me wonder because I couldn't come up with a good answer. So, I'm posting it here to see what you all think. Here it is:

The Bible was revealed to at least 50 different prophets over a period of thousands of years. So, why then did Allah reveal the entire Koran to just one prophet (Mohammod) 500 years after the Bible was completed?

Thanks for your help.

  1. It wasn't.  The Holy Qur'an was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (Allah's Peace be upon him) for a span of 23 years.

  2. The Quran was revealed over 23 years, but I don't know all the details. I know that the order the Quran is in now is NOT the order it was revealed in. The Bible was revealed to the Ummah of Isa (AS) but many Christians in the time of Isa (AS) did not follow the truth, so Allah revealed the last book to the last Prophet, Nabi (SAW) The bible was in it's original form at first, but has been altered through out the years. Whereas, Quran only has one version.

  3. the bible was revealed to jesus alone , the real bible was vanished and destroyed over all these years and distorted by people who claimed to be prophets and changed it

and Qur'an was not reavealed all at once ,Qur'an was revealed to one man  (p.b.u.h), but not all at once

and to correct everybody's information , the prophet did not pray at that cave except right before he got god's message by gebrael , the first time  happened in that cave. but after that it was revealed anywhere

  4. Salam for you my dear friend .The entire Qur'an was written by Allah in loh makhfud the highest level of the skies, but it was given through Jibril angel step by step in fthe form of ayats to Muhammad pbuh in arabic language in 22 years,2 months and 22 days in Mecca and Medinaa.Allah gave it step by step and in arabic language because by doing that it will be easier to be understood by the people. at his era.The first ayat Iqra was given in Hira cave in the ramadan month.

  5. It was revealed to Prophet Muhammad SAW gradually over a period of 23 years.

Prophet Muhammad was the last Prophet so there was no question of sharing the revelation.

  6. It wasn't delivered in one sitting, it was revealed in sections over time. The whole reason Islam and the Qu'ran came about is because the original message God sent the first time around was corrupted by humans. That's open to debate, but that is the reason. I would think it was only revealed to one person so there would be no issues surrounding its authenticity.

  7. Well, we believe that the Bible was revealed solely to the Prophet Jesus, peace be upon him. And the Torah to just the Prophet Moses, peace be upon him. So it would make sense for the Koran to be revealed to just one prophet, wouldn't it? By the way, it took 23 years...it wasn't technically "all at once." And the reason it was revealed 600 (not 500) years after the Bible, is same reason the Bible was revealed after the Torah: because it had lost its authenticity.

If I offended you in any way, please forgive me.

    Peace.

  8. The Qu'ran (Correct spelling) was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) only but was not given to him at once. It was delivered to him whenever he would go to pray at Mount Hira, the cave where he prayed.

  9. The Quran was revealed over 23 years. Not just in Mount Hira.

The bible was NOT revealed to 50 prophets. The bible was sent to Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) alone, just like the Torah was sent to Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) alone.

  10. no it wasnt. it was revealed within 23 years

  11. because there is no prophet or messenger coming after Mohammad (as). he is katimun nbin, so the Qur'an came in a short period but  the Qur'an didn't came at once.

before Islam all the prophets and the messengers used to run the previews religion,

that's why the bible came through long period.

<<<<if i am wrong someone can correct me>>>>

  12. The Qur'an is the Final and perfected Law for mankind.  It was revealed by God to Muhammad (sa), the perfect man and the Last law bearing Prophet over a period of roughly 23 years.

The reason why the Qur'an needed to be revealed was becuase the Bible was never meant to be the final law.  The Qur'an, unlike the Bible, is not a cultural law.  Rather, this is a law based on the human psyche, on human nature, which is ever constant and unchanging.

Before, Prophets could come through any religion because each people had their own teaching.

With Islam, religion has been perfected and is at its summit.  Therefore, prophets can only come under the flag of Islam and subordinate to Muhammad(sa).  Prophethood outside of that is neither possible nor plausible.

The book has been completed so any prophets that come, must not change even the slightest bit of the book.  Any person claiming to be a Messenger but changes the book, will clearly not be from Allah swt.

love for all, hatred for none

  13. It wasn't.

And it wasn't revealed just at the cave at Hira.

  14. allah knows best, and only allah knows, allah does everything in a good way so there couldnt be any other way
