Why was the olympics held in a communist country and why did america fight for vietnam against communist's?

Why was the olympics held in communist china and america fought side by side with other countrys to rid veitnam of communist rule .Should other countries say no to china because of communist rule and reopen companys before selling out there own countrys to china through trade and sport.

  1. The olympics were held there according to the official tale of events to promote and encourage improvements in human rights. My guess is it's entirely based on who fills the pockets of the IOC members most.

    The reasons for the US involvement in the Vietnam war are complex but genuine concern about human rights of the Vietnamese was not one of them. The west and America saw their economic interests threatened.

    Other countries are free to do whatever they want but it's very hypocritical to give China favored trading status but keep Cuba under an embargo as the US does. It's clearly all about the allmighty dollar
