Why was the rule changed that didn't allow 2 winners in the uneven bars competition? ?

It is clear that both He Kexin and Nastia Liukin preformed extremely well and both girls scored the same. why is it that they couldn't allow both girls to win the gold when neither competitor outperformed the other?

  1. I personally think that Nastia did WAY better, but the rule was that they take away low scores from the different international judges. It was like this:

    Both difficulties were 7.7's.

    They took away the highest and lowest from both routines, but it was still tied. So they took away the lowest from both and He had 9.1, 9.1, and a 9.0. Nastia had 9.1, 9.0, 9.0. So using that (in my opinion STUPID rule) He won.

    I think this is SUCH a dumb rule, but hey. Nastia still got the Gold in All around gymnast.
