  1. If I remember correctly, the scene does not actually take place in the book, but is referred to in the courtroom, so it was never actually "taken out" of the movie.  It is a long time since I read the book though.


  2. If your asking why the scene was not put in the movie, then the answer is probably at the time the movie was made, racial tensions in the United States were pretty high. A movie with a black man and a white woman in any kind of relationship would have been taboo. The studio would not have been able to make a profit off of the film, because people would not pay to see it. Especially in the south at the time.

  3. What scene are you talking about? We are never shown the two of them until they are in court, where they testify as to what happened~him truthfully and her lying. Did you think the scene had been filmed then edited? That wouldn't make sense because it would destroy the courtroom revelations.
