Question:

Why was there an English Referee in the New Zealand v France Game?

The yellow card cost New Zealand the game which should never have been deemed. Also the second French try which came from a forward pass was never picked up by the referee. You have to ask yourself if you were English who would you prefer your team to play next New Zealand or France!

  1. i think the ref giving the card to Mcalista was a right dicsion, because Mcalista took out the french player, and plus the ball was going towards the try line, but Mcalista was running  for the touchline away from the ball to take out the french player. Then after he took him out, he then turned and aimed for the ball. Well for ppl who thinks it should not have been a sinbin, i respect your opinion. But com on he was running the wrong well, and after he took out the player, it was then he started running towards the ball.

  2. Don't knock sensible planning and prudent political intervention...keep the conspiracy theories out of sport I say!!!!!

  3. I don't think we will ever know if that send off changed the match. We do know that the forward pass shouldn't have been allowed. I don't think there was a plan in that. Everyone is human and a mistake was made. Video refs should be allowed to have a say in the ear piece to keep any game fairer and take pressure off ref's. An awesome team won on the scoreboard and a different awesome team won on the field. A great, tight game that we can celebrate. (I'm a NZer) I just hope All Black supporters keep wearing black as they attend other games now...

  4. whats that got to do with the price of fish?

    all blacks were all shown

  5. Don't blame the ref - blame your dirty team performing a 'cynical' foul in front of the ref.

  6. France deserved to win NZ got tactics wrong should have kicked cross field or gone through the backs more.

  7. I don't know.

  8. Come off it the match referees were picked way in advance and who thought that England would be in the semi final? No many! As for the yellow card the NZ player knew exactly what he was doing. He looked at the Frenchman before he took him out as he knew the try was on.

The forward pass was marginal and neither the ref nor the touch judge was in a position to call it.

You whinge like a Southern hemisphere supporter. Have you considered moving there?

  9. 3 of the (I think) 10 referees that were at this world cup are British. There's no stupid system like in football where each country needs to have a representative, rugby picks the best from across the world. One of the other English referees has been at the top for the two world cups before this and If England weren't in the final last time round, he would have been doing it, no question. That should give you an idea of how high the British refereeing standards are.

The suggestion that the referee was biased is ridiculous. While it's possible that the decisions were wrong, I think you'll find that the yellow card incident was consistent with that referees decisions throughout this competition and the RFU's guidelines. As for the forward pass, that's a matter of opinion.

France played better on the day. In a cup competition, that's really all that matters.

  10. The referee made the decisions based on what he believed to be right they got beat because they never scored enough points simple as.

  11. If your from Wales ,,... what are you whingeing about..?

you probably live in england too... lol

    dR bad

  12. It was clearly a yellow card. He turned around and took him out knowing exactly what he was doing, he ran at him and turned away. France worked harder and had more opportunities to win the game, they did after all miss 3 penalties.

  13. I am New Zealander

    I am really sad

I hate British people (English referee)

    but... We are the best

    COME ON NEW ZEALAND!

    WE ARE THE BEST!

  14. too bad for youuuuu poor guys!

don't be too sad! French people like me are so proud to have won against such a wonderful team !!!! All blacks are great, but we DID IT!! yeah!!!

  15. Omgsh I can't belive the referee as well as the touch judge, I woke up at 9am to watch Luke Mcalister get sinbinned, that was a pathetic call, and forward pass by Michelak, I dunno what happened, desperation...

  16. Neutral Referee. Luck of the draw as to who referees the matches. Stop whinging already.

  17. cus tyhe northern hemisphere teams made secret bets with the refs and tried to make some of the top teams lose cus there w*nkers

  18. France, no question. I didn't think it was forward by the way!

  19. You also create your own luck mate. Some is seen and some not. The AB did not play to win. I had a feeling that they were too cautious and main reason the the previous world-cups played on their mind.

  20. On a gagné !!!!

Sorry but we are the best, that's the french flair !!!

  21. Do you happen to be from New Zealand, per chance? I was wondering when the first sour grapes posting would appear! Referees are neutral and pre-determined before any results.

  22. Bro' go get a drink and forget about it, you are asking silly questions.
