I thought there was only 40 min per half and don't remember any reason for overtime e.g. injuries etc except for montgomery and he walked straight back on, no prob.

  1. there isnt really extra time in rugby the rule is that in order for the game to end, the ball must go dead. this can be through kicking into touch, knocking on or in the finals case scoring however the game cannot end on a penalty by which i mean if the ref awards a penalty time would not be up

  2. No extra time. The clock is stopped for any break in the game. When it shows 80 min., time is up. But the referee only blows the whistle at a stoppage, penalty excluded.

  3. Even though the siren went on the 80 minute mark, the ref will only stop the game when there is a score, an infraction or the ball goes into touch. After the siren went, all that needed to happen was for the Sharks to hoof the ball into touch... which was missed... to win the game. A second opportunity went begging when the ref missed the Bulls knock on, which had that been picked up, would have ended the game too. Thus the game ended when habana scored.

  4. the amount of time during extra time is determined on how many times they stop the game. usually they ad 2 minutes of injury time just as a standard but they will add more depending on how many times they stop.
