Why was there no Renaissance in Asia or the Middle East?

  1. There was.  Both happened earlier than in Europe.  In the 800s, the Muslims had their Renaissance.  The Chinese had thiers even earlier.


  2. Because they never had Dark Ages as bad as Europe's.

    The Middle East WAS the cradle of civilization.

    China WAS far ahead of Europe in many areas of invention from ~ 200 BCE until the Renaissance and a lot of the advances of the Renaissance came directly from China via Marco Polo.

    Edit: The plague did hit China. It CAME from China.

  3. I thought the renaissance was a rebirth after the dark ages caused by the black plague.

    The plague did not hit the Middle east or Asia, so they had nothing to come back from.
