Laura Robson won the girls single title in emphatic fashion, at 14, having beaten the best, why has there been no mention of it on here. I know that the mens single final was all important, but surely this shouldn't go unnoticed.

Congrats should go out to her and a big well done.

  3. You are soooo right. Congratulations Laura, really well done

  4. it was erm ... all over the bbc news and it wasnt even adult finals so its not as important to media maybe when she older she get more credit

  5. She did amazingly well.

But shes not at the peak off tennis as the men or women tennis players.

  6. One wouldn't want to appear pushy. Really not the done thing, you know. :-)

    PS. Well done, Laura.

  7. Uhm...Didn't Venus Williams win?

  8. She was on the front page of every National newspaper!  A did see a couple of questions about her on here.

  9. She did great and surely has a bright future. I was amazed that a British girl did so well. That was until I heard she was born in Australia and didn't move here until she was 6, then it all made sense.

  10. um, because she is FOURTEEN.

of course she deserves praise but all this hyped up expectation will hardly be good for someone so young and with such a long way to go! i think the media attention she has received is ridiculous and the young gril just needs to be left to improve her game quietly without media attention and pressure heaped on her.

let her come back in five years and then we will see. but let's not pressurise her just yet!!!
