  2. if you are serious in your question, the rules violations had to do with members of the crew putting small magnets on the throttle stop, which kept nascar officials from pressing the accelerator all the way down during the chassis dyno test held after the race and after post-race inspection. had this worked, it would have kept nascar from knowing exactly how much horsepower the engines were capable of producing, because the pedal couldn't be pushed all the way down. they got caught, however, and the crew chiefs, car chiefs, and engine tuners for the 18 and the 20 in the nationwide series were suspended indefinitely (along with one other crew member). other penalties were levied as well: 150 owner points subtracted from each car in the nationwide series (meaningful because the 20 is in first in owner points), $50,000 fines to each of the crew chiefs, and both teams are on probation until the end of the year. and joe and jd gibbs have said that not only will the crew chiefs be responsible for paying their fines, but they will be suspended beyond what nascar demands, and there will probably be additional monetary fines for those involved as well. public apologies have already been issues by joe gibbs as well as the two crew chiefs.

furthermore, joey logano and tony stewart were both penalized 150 driver points in the nationwide series only and both were put on probation in that series alone. these penalties don't hurt all that much because neither of them are contending for the nationwide championship - they're not running anywhere near all the races. kyle was not involved at all - he was actually up in the race control booth for at least part of the race - they showed him there during the broadcast. joe gibbs has stated that they are working with nascar and i'm guessing they will appeal, but only to get the drivers penalties and probation removed as they had nothing to do with it - it all happened long after they had left the car. but, all indications are that the drivers were penalized because this is a team sport, and if someone on the team messes up, the whole team pays, in one way or the other.

  3. magnets on backside of gas pedal [h**l OF A TRY ] how many times did it get buy. thats racen

  4. They cheated.

I hope it doesn't badly affect Lagano.

  5. The CC's were suspended, because NASCAR are a bunch of vindictive SOB's. I don't think it's anybodies business except the teams what the dyno #'s are.  I've driven for people that would cover their engine with a blanket when a visited the shop. Hey I was on their side, remember? I've seen a lot of racers return the money and points when there was a protest, to keep the officials from looking into their engine. Not because they were illegal, but when the officials saw what they were doing, it would eventually be "leaked" to the competition, and these folks worked hard and spent money to get running better than the rest. The worst part is there was no "rules" violation, or illegal performance enhancing done.

  6. well Joey was docked some points but he wasn't in contention for the championship anyway.  It really won't affect him that much at all. Or Tony for that matter.  I think they are appealing since the drivers didn't know what was going on.

I am really not sure about the second part of your question....Kyle and Tony's crew cheifs from the Cup series didn't have anything to do with it.  It was the Nationwide cars only.  all in all a few people were suspended and or fired and Gibbs was fined and or docked owners points.  for something that was supposed to be "severe punishment" it really wasn't.

back to racin as usual tonight.

  7. They were fined, docked and Penalized for "performance and horse power enhancements"! Not sure what that means except they tried to improve the performance of the engines in some "illegal" way. I believe it was Mr. Hendricks that once said "If my Crew Chiefs don't get suspended once in awhile, it means they are not doing their jobs!" It's not cheating in Racin' unless you get caught!

  8. It all has to do with the magnet under the gas pedal...They be back next season...
