After all, she left her 2 year old son outside a shop?

What is the difference between her and the McCanns?

I'm not having a dig at the antis, I'm really interested to know.

  1. Publicity is a double edged sword. The more publicity you get the more attention you draw and you're always going to recieve a high number of bad attention as you are are good attention.

The Bulger case had nothing on the McCann case. Not least of all because it was very short, the child died and it was all over.

The McCanns have gone for a massive campaign to try and find a child, and have made significant riches in the process.

  2. its been mentioned very often by the anti mccanns that they are doctors. statements like "they are doctors and should know better" is one that been said or similar  sorts of thing. denise bulger was from a council estate. therefore she wouldnt know better. its some sort of class distinction on the party of the antis who think middle class people should behave differently. i dont know why but thats the impression i often get.

  3. It's easy to err as a human being and when poor Jamie was taken, the world was not as bad as it is today.

You used to be able to leave a pram outside a shop and the only people to go anywhere near it would be cooing old ladies.

Outside a shop, we're talking 3 minutes before Mother & child would be reunited - having a meal, we're talking at least 1 hour!!

There is no way today would you leave a pram or kiddie outside a shop but things have changed.

The McCanns are professional people who should have known better!!  Was it he first time they left their children ALONE in a strange country?  I very much doubt it.

I still say that if they had neglected their children in this country, they would be in prsion, and NOT being given compensation!!

None of this has stopped some people from leaving their kids playing alone.  They obviously want to learn the hard way - more fool them.

  4. could it be due to the fact that was she was from a working class background and the mccanns were middle class?

  5. popping into a shop and leaving him for 2 minutes in a mall and abandoning your children  in a foreign hotel for a meal without them are worlds apart

denise did wrong, but is paying for her slip

the mc canns choose to leave 3 children for a night out

  6. Because she didn't try to gain financially from little Jamie's death, plus she didn't leave Jamie night after night in another country whilst she went boozing

  7. Bcoz that was before the days of the Internet being so popular as it is now with message boards like this..and 24hr news coverage..with SKY giving news constantly....times have changed..and also it was the 1st time in my memory such a horrific thing had happened...and it was done by 2 kids..it was all rather shocking...

Since that time we as a society have seen all sorts and it takes more now to shock us as there has been an increase in the amount of  violence on TV, society, video games etc...so we are now more normalised to nasty things happening all around us...we are not as shock-able any more....

  8. i think its maybe bcos today, we live in a time of media trial.

People are more likely believe in the media than in the law.

This said, the media should promote responsible journalism & use this trust to further causes & resolve issues but to further their own selfish political & monetary gains they resort to cheap sensationalism & tawdry tabloid tactics to sway the gullible public & sell their papers.

To add fuel to the fire, we now have the net which can misused atrociously to spread rumours & influence people.

i don't believe rumour mongering was so rampant or easy years ago.

  9. Denise bulger made a mistake, of course she did, but thats all it was a mistake.( which resulted in such terrible consequence.)

The McCanns deliberatly left their precious children alone, night after night, and as such they are being vilified because they are neglectful parents and deserve all they get.

  10. She didn't hun,,he was standing beside her while she got served. He ran out of the shop,as you know any two year old can do.

It's not the same at all xx

    Following Kats lead...Love you x*x  :0)

  11. Will you never get it Steph? Maddy is missing most likely now dead not because of a bad decision but becasue of her parents LIFESTYLE CHOICE. They were repeatedly left home alone and neglected.

In my eyes that is child abuse.

  12. Denise Bulger never left her son outside the shop dear he wandered off and 2 evil little b*stards murdered him.

Kate McCann had LEFT 3 children all alone in a foreign country in bed to go out get pissed & stuff her face....................... The normal thing to do would be to eat in or take your kids with you.

And lets not forget they had not had they kids with them all day. her & Gerry had been of playing tennis etc while the kids was stuck in a creche playing.   Would it have been so bad for them to have actually spent some time with their kids that day,

And more so after Maddie had mentioned about crying the night before and them not coming, Sorry but any normal parent would have felt guilty as h**l and made sure they stayed with them.

Or better still PAY FOR A BABYSITTER

  13. i don't know, maybe it's because she wasn't investigated as a prime suspect. or maybe she didn't try to sue the police force while making money from selling storys to anyone who will listen?

  14. It's a sign of the times. In every sense - society has changed a lot since then.

  15. Before the Bulger case many women left their children outside of a shop. In the 1940's - 1970's it was common place to see babies in prams outside of shops.

We live in a different world now where you have to watch kids 100%.

  16. well would you really leave your babies alone after one of them told you they were crying the night before and you never came ... now come on , no of course you wouldnt... i still cant get past the fact that they were having a night out and three kids were left alone...iknow we have all done stupid thing and the truth of it is , if the child had not gone missing , nobody would have been the wiser, but she did and of course people are going to have divided views x

  17. There is no difference

she made a bad decision that resulted in her son being murdered

the McCanns did exactly the same

whether Madeleine was murdered or not I don't know

  18. I don't think she deliberately left him outside the shop, he wandered away from her while she was in a shop.  She took her eyes off him for two minutes, the McCanns left 3 very young children alone every night to go out drinking with their friends.  It's an entirely different scenario.

  19. He wasn't outside Viper he was in the shop with her but was coaxed out by his killers while she was distracted. It's so easily done in busy shopping centres and it's a hugely different scenario to the McCanns.

  20. Or Ben Needhams mother. She left him outside her villa in Greece, playing on a bike.

Haug - shut up. The McCanns were subject to vile accusations and that is why they stopped co-operating.

  21. She didnt leave him outside a shop - he wondered away...big difference - I have lost my son in a shopping mall, not out of neglect, I didnt purposfully leave him and two baby twins in a room in a foreign country and go drinking and partying with my mates.

On February 12, 1993 a small boy who was to turn three in March was taken from a shopping mall in Liverpool by two 10 year old boys. Jamie Bulger walked away from his mother for only a second and Jon Venables took his hand and led him out of the mall with his friend Robert Thompson.

  22. she didn't leave him -he wandered away-that happened to me with my daughter once but thankfully I found her.

  23. because james was taken out of a shop, he was took from his mothers side in a busy shopping centre. there was cctv cameras all over that videod him and his abductors, and his little lifeless body was found not long after. its a completely different situation. his mother then had to watch how her son was taken from under her nose on video, if you have children it is easy to lose one of them while shopping, i myself got lost in sheffield markets numerous times and had to have my name and mams name shouted over the tanoid regarding a lost child. these people LEFT thier children in the hotel alone while they enjoyed a meal with freinds, not lost them accidently for a minute or two. if you had said ben needham who was taken abroad then yeh you would have a valid question. Kerry Needham was subjected to the same amount of questioning and accusations, but the press got hold of this case and made it much more than the needham case, for what reasons we dont know.

  24. So you cannot see a difference between a mother that did all she could to help the police and the McCanns who refused to answer police questions or take part in a reconstruction?

The McCanns are surely unique as the only parents of a missing child to block the investigation!!!  Their actions have therefore guaranteed that they can never look innocent now!!!

  25. i said that in the very begining, she made a mistake her son paid the ultimate price, the mccanns did the same stupid thing, they let their guard down, thought the kids were safe and again the child pays the price, at the end of the day both mothers let their children down, it amounts to the same thing to me, but at the end of the day our kids should be safe its the sickos and perverts who take these kids and if they werent in our society then these kids would still be with us today. xx

  26. The McCanns are middle class and decent looking.....that alone has made them a target.

  27. no way was she victimised, because she was working class, thats why.mary.c.

  28. Maybe because there was no neglect involved. Denise Bulger hadn't knowingly left her two year old son in a room ALONE and been sat with a bottle of wine over 50 yards away. She was shopping and did not leave her son outside a shop. He was in the Strand Shopping Centre with her, she went into a shop with him following behind, when she turned around he had wandered back outside the shop. As for Sara Payne she had left her four children playing out together, the eldest brother being 13, in an area she knew well. Something most parents do every day of the week.

I don't understand how you can compare these two murders with Madeleines disappearance. It wasn't as if Madeleine was playing and just disappeared. She had gone to sleep feeling safe and secure with her parents there. The next thing her parents have left the room, allegedly left the door to the room unlocked, gone off to have a meal and some wine and supposedly checked on their children every 15 minutes. Had they eaten with their children and had a bottle of wine in the room/on the balcony there would have been no way Madeleine would have disappeared. Denise Bulger and Sara Payne made the mistake of turning their backs once and losing their children forever. The McCanns left their children ritually every night of their holiday to go and eat/drink with friends in my book that constitutes neglect!!

  29. Completely different scenario.

Denise Bulger was out shopping with her son, not left alone in an apartment.

James went a few steps away from his mother and was taken by his murderers. Madeline's parents knowingly left her in an apartment alone.

  30. There were no internet campaigns.  The poor little boy was found quickly, and it was clear who killed him.

If Madeleine's body had been found almost immediately, the amount of speculation would have been more than halved.  Most of the "anti-s" have claimed at one stage or another that Kate and Gerry killed their daughter.

Also, the McCanns didn't sob and cry, which upset the public against them, convinced they were unfeeling.
