  1. Just God playing his little Old Testament games.

  2. Numbers 20.12.

He was forbidden from entering because Moses was barred from the Promised Land due to an incident in the Desert. The Israelites were wandering in the desert, and had no water. Basically they started complaining against God. God told Moses to speak to a particular rock and it would give water. Instead, he got shirty with the Israelites and struck the rock, and said something that didn't glorify God. For that disobedience, God banned him from seeing the Promised Land.

  3. he disodeyed God read genisis

  4. hopeofkingdom is correct

  5. Moses was not allowed to set foot on the promised land because he disobeyed God"

"The Lord spoke to Moses and said, `Take a staff, and then with

Aaron your brother assemble all the community, and, in front of

them all, speak to the rock and it will yield its water. Thus you will produce water for the community out of the rock, for them and

    their beasts to drink.'"

Moses makes a fatal, human error. Responding to the community with impatience he does not speak to the rock as commanded, but strikes the rock twice with his staff, saying, `Listen to me, you rebels. Must we get water out of this rock for you?' This one loss of patience, this human response to a toilsome situation, costs him dearly:

Because he disobeyed God told Moses: "You did not trust me so far as to uphold my holiness in the sight of the Israelites; therefore you shall not lead this assembly into the land which I promised to give them."

  6. Disobedience

  7. agree with 'Jane C', but more clearly that is from the bible not the LDS.

  8. Because God told him to speak to a rock to make water come out and Moses, in his anger, struck the rock twice.  God told Moses he had dishonored His holiness in front of the people, therefore Moses was not allowed into the land, but could only look at it.

But, Moses did set foot in the land after his death - during the Transfiguration.

  9. He smote the rock out of anger. (I think)

  10. He hadn't given God the credit or praise for the water coming out of the rock and he had struck to rock twice.

But he will be in the Promised land when Jesus returns at the resurrection.

    Exodus 17

6 Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

    Numbers 20

10 And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?

11 And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts [also].

  14. Because he murdered a Gypsy.

  15. Because he lost his temper with the people and said some things he should not of said and broke the stone tablet containing the ten commandment...
