i applied through Brevard community college for over 30 scholarships that i was eligible for. i had maintained a 3.84 gpa since summer 07. i made the dean's list, the honors list, and the presidents list, plus I have around 450 volunteer hours, not to mention a PHI THETA KAPPA member. I had good solid reference letters. but because i'm not on some buddy list-- i wasn't given anything-- has anyone else had this problem?any solutions?

  1. You sound like you are doing everything you need to be doing to get scholarships. The only thing that may me be holding you up is that you lack financial need. Otherwise, I see no excuse for the lack of scholarships. It seems like you need to checko out non-need based scholarships. These scholarships do not require you to file or submit a fafsa. These are also often through outside Agencies rather than your school, because it is not based on your FAFSA information. I recommend checking out FASTWEB.COM. You may have to do some investigating, but if you try, with your background, it seems like you should be qualified for some!!

Also, make sure you are submitting EVERYTHING. One thing left out, could make your application not qualified and then it will most likely be thrown out before anyone has even read it. Good luck!
