Why wasn't the 1500 Metre Winner Disqualified when he got out of the pool when...?

  1. It isn't illegal, but it is kind of rude. You have to interfere with the other competers to be disqualified.


  2. there was no protest lodged by the other competitors in the race


  3. YOU HAVE NO OBLIGATION TO STAY IN A POOL AFTER YOU FINISH A RACE.  AS LONG AS YOU EXIT FROM YOUR LANE, WITHOUT DISRUPTING OTHER SWIMMERS IN OTHER LANES, YOU CAN EXIT, PERIOD.  MOST STAY IN SIMPLY OUT OF EXHAUSTION AND USE THE TIME TO CATCH THEIR BREATH.
