Why wasn't the Governor's daughter protected?

We live in an age where we have learned to be concerned about terrorism, assassination, murder... As the daughter of a Governor, Bristol Palin was at high risk for being targeted by domestic or foreign terrorists. What was a GOVERNOR thinking to be so careless, so thoughtless, so incompetent that she didn't know what her daughter was doing or with whom she was doing it? And Rethugs want to trust a person like PALIN with this country?

Let me ask you back. If the government has to protect each and every public figure like governor, senator and all their family then how much we, as the people, want to pay the taxes to cover the cost?

Protecting the children is parents' job, no matter what position/title the parents have.

The kid is 17, apparently you don't have a teen. But I will agree with you she has a full plate making her a poor nomination choice. 5 kids one handicapped is a big load. What happens if McCain croaks? No way man will she be able to run a country she just plain doesn't have it . At least Biden has some kind of record to hold the office if Obama runs into problems.
