He wouldn't of fallen for the same trick twice right? If he paced himself could he have won?

  1. forman retired. a mistake i think he would win 2 one.

  2. Foreman went off the deep end, mentally.  Blew up to 300 pounds while taking a year off.  Then made a comeback, but was never really the same.  Foreman was haunted by the loss in Zaire, but never once mentioned it until he beat Moorer.  Take a look at the fight against Moorer, he wore the same trunks when he lost against Ali.  Dunno if they were exactly the same, but it clearly was something that haunted him for decades, and he finally exorcised the demons when he regained the belt.  I wish I had the qoute handy, but is was something like "now I can forget about Zaire".

As far as the potential rematch, I just don't think Big George was in a good place mentally to ever beat Ali.  He may have been able to pace himself in a rematch, but Ali was, like Ali said to George during the prefight instructions "Your Master".
