  1. Aquatic plants are very useful for scientific studies involving nutrient uptake because you can control the exact concentration of the solution that you are using without having to deal with all the hydroponics equipment. It makes things a lot simpler.

    Just make the solution, stick the plants in, wait, then check the concentrations of the nutrients in the solution and in the plant. Very easy.
