Why water plants in the morning or at night? I always hear you shouldn't water them in middle of the day. Why?

Early morning is best for most plants.  Watering in the middle of the day is a bad idea for a couple of reasons

1) The sunlight will cause the water to evaporate faster and not get to the roots of the plants.

2) The sunlight on the plant can act as a magnifier and (burn) the plant.

morning watering of the plants is best,because if you do it at lunch it too hot and the leaves will burn,and at night its a big no,no,cause then you have fungus all over and plants do not look healthy anymore,most times they die and you do not want that....so now you know that morning watering is best for your plants and why...good luck..

Water plants, or grass, in the morning. This ensures the plants adequate moisture for the heat of the day (most stressful part). It also allows the plant to dry on the outside, discouraging the growth of fungus. (Watering at night leaves the plant wet for a lot longer time, encouraging fungal growth).

early morning water is the best. however the myth of afternoon watering burning the leaves is false. when a drop of water is on your skin does it burn you bc it magnifies the light? no it cools you off. it has the same effect on grass. if you go to a golf course in the summer you will see guys dragging hoses from green to green trying to keep the grass cool. water deep and infrequent. this promotes roots to grow deeper searching for water. if you water too often the roots will be shallow bc they dont have to look for water.
