  1. to enjoy the time we have

  2. you were apart of God plan which were to put you here. God made you for a reason.

  3. I am here to live the perfect life.

The perfect life is based on perfect virtue.

    Perfect virtue is incorruptible.

    All the best.

  4. We are here to learn from our experiences in the physical realm and to recognize our own "soul." Some are also here to serve mankind.

You need to look at it "from above" as being pure consciousness in the beginning, eternal, and having become involved in the lower vibrations of matter believing that to be the 'real' state of living.

Man is more than clay, he is "made in the image of God."

  5. Life is  ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚€Âœthe greatest gift". And it comes from a most loving giver, the Grand Creator of the universe, Jehovah God.(James 1:17)

Thus, life without God is futile.

    At Ecclesiastes 12:13, Solomon concluded:

“The conclusion of the matter, everything having been heard, is: Fear the true God and keep his commandments. For this is the whole obligation of man.”

Solomon’s verdict that life’s meaning cannot be divorced from a wholesome fear of God was repeatedly confirmed by Jesus Christ. “It is written,” Jesus said, quoting God’s Word, “Man must live, not on bread alone, but on every utterance coming forth through Jehovah’s mouth.” (Matthew 4:4; Deuteronomy 8:3)

Yes, for one’s life to be fulfilling, the spiritual dimension cannot be ignored.

Of himself, Jesus said further: “My food is for me to do the will of him that sent me and to finish his work.” (John 4:34) Obediently serving his heavenly Father was a source of joy and satisfaction. It nourished him. It gave purpose to his life.

Historian Arnold Toynbee once wrote: “ Man’s true end is to glorify God and to enjoy Him for ever.”

Yes, the purpose of life is to glorify our Maker. Happily, God made it the greatest source of joy and lasting satisfaction!

  6. To serve the True and living God:Jesus Christ

  7. We are here because our parents had s*x.

Our function is to survive long enough to reproduce.

It is our desires and fears which motivate us.

So just follow your instincts and you'll be fine.

  8. all of these things and more

    why?

because thats just how things went

    completely? dont get you

  9. Depends on what level you want to consider "existence":

Biologically, "to eat", "to be eaten", "to reproduce".

But "Biology" does not adequately explain "conscience" or "self-awareness". There is no reason for a piece of meat to be self-aware or to perceive the duality of its own existence and contemplate the notion of its own death.

Since I tend to go with "credo ergo sum" (I am capable of perceiving myself, therefore there must be some reason for that phenomenon) I am forced to conclude that "existence" is more than just a Biological Accident. And, since we apparently have made  a transition from "not-conscious" to "conscious", there is no good reason to assume that we cannot do it more than once. Everywhere else in the physical world we see examples of the universal principle of "conservation of matter and energy" wherein they change form but do not cease to exist strictly.

On a metaphysical level, I wonder whether it is possible for sentience to exist without the physical body. Arguably in "lower animals" we could theorize that "physical body" exists without "sentience", so why not vice-versa? If we are indeed sentient beings who do not really REQUIRE a physical body, that invites the discussion of "life-after-death" and "life BEFORE life" and so forth. So the topic I'm currently wondering about is whether on this plane of existence we might be able to communicate with entities on other planes.

In relation to some of the other postings:

    a) I have not procreated, so therefore I guess my life has no point (come on you guys, you can do better than that!)

    b) If Jesus or God need to be "served", what's that about? Doesn't that make them out to be defective, that they can't function without "servants"? If theologically God or "Jesus" is supposed to be SUPERIOR to the rest of us, why do they NEED us? That just doesn't sound very "superior" not to mention "omnipotent".

    Hey, you DID ask.... :)

  10. "And I (Allah) created not the jinn and mankind except that they should worship Me (Alone)." (interpretation of Qur'an 51:56).

From this verse we also learn that the purpose of life and our existence, the reason why God created us is to worship Him.

  11. To try and be nice to people, avoid eating fat, read a good book every now and then, get some walking in, and try and live together in peace and harmony with people of all creeds and nations.

  12. We are here by happy chance; any of the 'reasons' you mention can only be put in life by the individual, nobody else.

  13. If you have children that you love and adore then you have a picture of why you are here.  Children are so precious to us.  God created you because he wanted a precious child, friend, brother.  Your purpose it to bring him pleasure through your love and by receiving his love.

  14. We are here to question, for each of our individual lives are all too brief.

  15. We are at the very beginning of time for the human race. It is not unreasonable that we grapple with problems. But there are tens of thousands of years in the future. Our responsibility is to do what we can, learn what we can, improve the solutions, and pass them on.

    -Richard Feynman

  16. We were Originally All Created To Be A Companion To God.  Then we fell from Heaven. God believes in reincarnation, not damnation. We are here to give or learn, those lessons or truths, where-by others and/or ourselves may  have an opportunity to come to a better understanding of Our True Nature in relation to God and our fellow man.

  17. Great question.

We all have a purpose in life, in fact we have several.

One purpose is to either accept God or reject it. Another purpose is to find what you enjoy doing in life (something that you really enjoy), and doing that for a living.

Another purpose is to be a loving and kind friend/family member/husband or wife/ parent, etc.

Life is filled with purposes. I have often felt as if I didn't have a purpose in life, and that it was all pointless. However, I have worked hard to find things that I enjoy, and really search my soul and make goals and spend time doing the things I enjoy.

I know feel much happier about life, and also feel like I have a deep purpose. I wish you well.

  18. We were created to worship and glorify the One True God.
