The leading General in the Russian Army stated that if the USA installed defensive missiles in Poland, it would be provocation worthy of a Russian nuclear attack on Poland. This is the day the Gorbachev stated that he felt that a new cold war was developing. This is a few days after Russia invaded Georgia , shockingly reminiscent of Hitlers occupation of the Sudetenland in Checkoslovokia in 1939.

Quite frankly, I think that if Obama is going to win the presidency of the 2008 election, we're doomed.

1) I know this may be racist, but I'm not ready for a black president (an inexperienced one at that).

2) I don't like a candidate who lies about brother, what church he went to, that the church he went to never preached racist when he was there (yeah, for the 30 something years that reverend NEVER 'preached' like that?), who lies saying he isn't muslim, on and on.

3) I want someone in the White House who knows how to lead this country while we are at war.

U probably wouldn't even have the right to make a comment against a sitting president without being executed without a trial or even get to vote! My grandfather fought in WW2 and was a remarkable person! I'm sorry that he risked his life for ppl like u! Ppl such as u who criticize our soldiers don't deserve the freedoms that they fight and die for in my opinion!

Well I'm not really for NUCLEAR weapons.  But the fact that he intends to cut our military forces, with Russia and everything else going on now would not be the time to weaken our military, and wants to slow the development of our weapons etc.   scares the c**p out of me.   It's fine to have a world view of no nuclear weapons but you can't do that.  You can't force other countries to stop producing nuclear weapons or any other weapons and since we are top dog in the world right now we are sitting here with a giant target on our heads.   Not real smart but I've been saying it all along and nobody bothers to listen.  They are more interested in Palin's 17 year old daughter

Trust me my friend  ...Americans see and acknowledge the characters in this election and they all know that Obama  is a particularly dangerous, very questionable and utterly inexperienced fringe candidate to turn the whole country over to as our Commander and Chief .

Every side is rattling the saber over some stupid "provocation" that could have been avoided in the first place. Bush's state department gave the go ahead for Georgia to invade South Ossetia, which is what precipitated the conflict in the first place.Russia used Georgia's poorly thought through invasion of South Ossetia to invade Georgia. There is a lot of blame to go around here people. Bush was the one who looked into Putin's eyes and saw "a good soul".

Frankly, Obama is the only candidate who doesn't believe in issueing lame threats that wind up having to be backed up by action that everyone winds up regretting. So what if he opposes the "future weapons systems". He is trying to stop another international arms race from breaking the bank of every country involved in it. He DID NOT say he would cut funding for the overall military and actually supports more funding for the military and an increased number of troops, just not the stupid and wasteful "future programs" that so many armchair generals think we should spend money on.
