  1. the human body reacts to a certain stimulus with a covert or overt response; one is outwardly expressed while the other unexpressed but felt within and usually we generate an overt response to tickling, which can be observed when we laugh so hard when being tickled.

the reason behind our inability to tickle ourselves or to make a covert or overt response about it is because the stimulus is expected. for stimuli that would generate such a response needs to be undetected by the mind which would give it a state of shock, thus generating the response. have you ever laughed at a joke that you've already heard before? probably not, thats because the mind has already expected the stimulus that will be given thus not generating the usual response an unaware person would have done.

hope this answers your question :D

  2. Im guessing that our brain is already aware that we are trying to tickle ourselves and it's only when another is tickling you that your nerves react to it. Maybe...

  3. Because when you tickle yourself, you (Your brain/Sub-Conscience) automatically know what to expect such as:

Which part is going to be tickled

How much pressure is going to be used.

Others can tickle you, because you don't know what to expect and your body can't prepare itself because it has no clue what the other person is going to do.

So its hard to predict how hard or soft they will tickle you

    Etc

    Hope this helps!
