  1. we cannot count rain as so many drops fall at same time but we measure rain using a rain guage.

  2. You could take a few portions of the rain soaked area, say a 5 by 5cm section and count the drops. then multiply to give you an estimate for  a given area. But why?

  3. To many rain drops and to fast to keep count.

  4. We can! We usually measure it in number of units over a given area in a given time frame using a "rain gauge".

It's still commonly measured in good old imperial measures too, none of this centimetres rubbish.

  5. Ok.. that will be your project.   Get back to me when you are finished.  Think about how you would do it and tell us how that went....

  6. Because we're busy, dear...

  7. Well if you think we cant count the raindrops then you may be wrong.

Actually, i think that all it would take is a machine that can shoot out a 2 dimensional layer of laser beams(the layer being parallel to the ground) that can count the number of times that they are intercepted by the raindrops and thus calculate the approximate number of raindrops passing through the area covered by the laser layer.

  8. Well There are too many coming down at a time it would be almost impossible.

  9. we cannot count the because water is uncountable. well, if you are talking about counting the raindrops ,then try counting your hair and get the answer it is almost as difficult as that . We usually measure it than actually counting . It is measured in Cm's.
