Since we need more heat and light in Winter, why we don't save the daylight (DST) in WINTER? In other words while SUMMER is more hot, why we do DST in SUMMER?

  2. Changing the clocks forward or backward has no change in heat, or hours of daylight.

It only displaces the sunrise and sunset times by one hour according to the clock.

Assume that we were on one of the equinoxes of equal daylight days and the sun rose at 6:00 AM and set at 6:00 PM, changing the clock forward 1 hour would make it 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, or shifting back would be 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

It will still be 12 hours of daylight.

Daylight saving time (DST) also called British summer time(BST) in Great Britain, was first introduced in 1907 as a way of reducing evening usage of incandescent lighting, which was a primary use of early electricity for households at the time, as people found electrical lighting to be much more convenient and brighter than candles, kerosene or coal oil lamps etc. and much cleaner since it did not produce any soot.

Today, the original reasoning is completely invalid (my belief).

Since lighting is an extremely small fraction of electrical consumption with all of our modern electrical and electronic equipment.

Many countries have never adopted a time change, and more are no longer using the practice.

Most of Arizona(US), Saskatchewan, and part of British Columbia in Canada and roughly half of Australia, have dropped the practice.

This actually causes much confusion when the clocks change, especially when there is no set date for all countries who still continue this out of date practice.

It is like many other things which were valid at the time, but are no longer practical, or serves any useful purpose today.

If we are actually a 'Global Community' today, it would seem to make sense for everyone to completely abandon the practice.

The sooner the better in my opinion.
