  1. We had a drill today! It's so you know what to do so if theres a fire you don't just run in circles screaming, "OMG! LIKE WHAT DO WE DO!! WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!" Things would be chaotic if people didn't know which wing of the building to exit out of or which door to use.

  2. The straight-forward answer is that fire drills are ways to practice leaving a building should some disaster arise. It need not be a fire. A chemical spill might be cause enough for an evacuation. With numerous drills, the chances of an orderly evacuation without panic (the actual issue at hand) is increased. (We have these at where I work, which has chemical facilities.)

The more in-depth answer is one of practicality. Conduct too many fire drills, and the possibility of the alarm being ignored is increased. Also, in modern times and in reference to schools, the greater threat has been disgruntled students using guns on their teachers and fellow students.

  3. we have fire drills because then we know how to get out of the school quick enough and know all the rules when a fire is happening.

  4. So people in a school, job etc. Know how to evacuate a building if one really occurs.

  5. what if their was a fire?  you would want 2 know where to go, who 2 report to, and the fastest, safest, most efficient way to get out, right?  ur not gunna want to find all that out in a real emergency....u will be too scared and worried about ur friends and all...

  6. if there was a fire, what would you do? everybody would be running out the door, and most likely someone would trip, fall, or run into something, s oa fire drill helps so that everyone is rede and noone gets hurt while quickly leaving towards safety (lol)
