Why were McDonalds open in Iran for only 2 days?

According to Wikipedia they opened in 1994 and closed after two days. But there is no reason.

Crikey, most of ours in australia are open everyday, maybe they feared for civilians with all the instability over there at the time, or maybe they were too expensive for the common people to afford, good question, would be interesting to know the answer! :)

no it wasnt.. wth r u talkin about? McDonald never came to iran, thats jsut a rumor, and ur foolish enough to believe it.

A place WITH THE MCDONALD STYLE came to iran, and probably got sued for Copyright invasions.. and a lot of other foreign fast food franchies followed, which they remained in business for years (AND UNTIL NOW)

McDonalds is an American owned company, so Iran really disliked us after the removal of their Shah, so they don't purchase anything from them, they're anti-american.

Interesting question, but hard to answer...!

Here in Iran we have some variety of products which are same as American products but with other trade marks...

Our government don't like some companies which are producing well known American goods selling their goods in Iran.

I remember when Coca-colla (Iran branch) had begin to produce, some people were against that company. Still some newspapers writing articles about this subject. But that company could continue its job and some drinks such as Fanta, Sprite, Coca-colla, etc. are producing yet...

Of course a lot of Iranian like to have McDonald and other famous products but there is a resistance against American goods and that's related to some political and economical conflicts between two countries...

The Iran's people don't like eat McD cuz they fear the chicken meat is non-Halal as it comes from USA moreover they also anti-America.
