  1. That gave us time to clean up the dishes before we left. Oh there were no drive thrus in those days.

  2. Im pretty sure there is not real scientific evidence that there will be problems if you eat before you swim. But Im sure youve had that feeling after a full meal where you barely want to move your fingers, let alone go for a swim. Straining your body when you have a full stomach will lead to cramps and make you muscles slightly "lazier" since a lot of blood and oxygen is used for digestion. But this only applies on a "full stomach" ( say youve just eaten a 3 -course meal with dessert at the end) If you've just had a small turkey sandwich or something, you wil be just fine. Also,if you're a person with average or more fitness, you should be ok. Just use your judgement

  3. Because you could get cramp.

The reason is that after eating, your blood supply goes to the stomach and other parts to help consume and digest your food.

The blood would then not be available to go to the muscles to clear out all the nasty chemicals such as formic acid that developes there after exercise and produces cramp, which is a nasty , crippling pain in the muscles that disables you and can lead to you drowning in agony.

  4. because your stomach is working in the digestion and when you move to much in the water you can get crambs...too much going on in your body

  5. stomach cramps. all the blood is in your stomach to digest the food.
