My cat gave birth to five kittens last night, three of which were born with their eyes open. I have seen many kittens being born but never any with their eyes open. I'm concerned that they may be blind. Help!

  2. I cannot believe THIS.

    It's impossible. Are u kidding?

My cat had a few series of kittens and it never ever happened to us. And they were perfect ones.

I had been assisting & helping her myself all the times, but it didn't happen such a thing and I didn't even read such a thing in books, those times.

  3. While uncommon some kittens are born with their eyes open, sometimes they will close a day or two after and sometimes they just stay open.  The kittens are prolly fine, their eyes just developed a bit faster then their siblings.  If mom will let you pick them up and look at their eyes, move your finger back and forth and if they follow it or at least react you know they can see.

Edit: Life_is it is not impossible, its just very rare.  I've seen it happen.

  4. wow, thats strange, ive never known for that to happen before
