Question:

Why were my Movie Channels taken away by Comcast?

When I had cable box when patriot media was just bought by comcast, I could get every movie channel from HBO to Starz to Cinemax. Now When comcast officially started making changes in like January of this year, we lost every single one of our movie channels. Is this just comcast just changing its policies or should I call and complain? By the way a friend of mine has all the HBO channels and HBO on demand and claims that Comcast does not make him pay for it. He says that Comcast reqires everyone of its users to get a new cable box. What should I do?

  1.    That very same thing is happening here in the Boston area. They are slowly moving channels to their so called "digital line up". You are now required to get their digital cable box in order to view all (or most) of the channels that have been "stolen" from the regular line up. Quite frankly, I would not be surprised if other cable providers are doing the same dastardly thing.

  2. I would call them and tell them you want them to honor the deal that you originally had with patriot. Tell them exactly what that package was, and insist they give you that exactly because hey it's not your fault the company was bought out. Now if they fight you, and they might because there's almost always some douchebag on the phone, tell them that you will take your business elsewhere. they will probably send your call to customer retention, and that department will likely offer you a nice deal to get you to stay. They sometimes won't do anything till you threaten to to leave. All they want is the $$$

    Good luck
