Why were the American horses so bad in the Dubai World Cup? They’ve won it eight times so how come they made no show this year?

Probably due to the switch from dirt to Tapeta. American racing is still coming to terms with such synthetic surfaces and many trainers are not keen to run their dirt horses on them.
