I guess I'm just wondering what everyone thinks. Why were you favourite teachers your favourites? Why were they memorable? What were some awesome things that they did? What was their personality like?

I guess I am asking because I am thinking about becoming a teacher and I want to know if I'm potentially well suited.

  1. they was super fun and crazyyy...

acted like they actually liked their job, which is so hard to find in teachers these days.

  2. My favorite teacher was my chemistry teacher...i liked him so much i took advanced chemistry the next year so i could keep him as a teacher.  Mainly its because my first semester of Chem i absolutly hated it but then i went in for help and he compared Chemistry to colorguard and he jus completly related all the material to me.  I learned to love chem becz whenever i was struggling he always came up with a way to make it relate to my life so i could figure it out and remember it on tests.  That and he always took the time to meet with me after class/during study hall/ before school.  Not to mention he could joke around with us and still teach the subject with competence.

  3. Well one of my favourite teachers was fun.  He made maths almost fun anyway!  But when he shouted at you BLOODY h**l he shouted!!

Same for my favourite Art teacher, he was fun and all smiles until you did something you shouldn't have done and he would yell the place down.

But I think they were my favourite teachers because they were fun but fair. =)

    Hope this helps

    =)

  4. the teachers that pushed me the most, doing the unexpected, i will never forget them

  5. I had a teacher once who was very friendly with all of us in the class and i guess we took her lessons for granted because she was our friend because that year, we all failed her course. While she was announcing the results in the class, she bursted into tears right in front of the class and we all felt very bad. The following year, we resolved to pass her course because we didn't want to see her cry again and we all did well (not for ourselves because we probably didn't understand then that it was for our own good, but for her). I understood then that a student's failure is also that of the teacher and therefore a teacher shouldn't be indifferent to his/her students' failure. I'll never forget her for that and i'm sure the others won't too.

So i guess it all boils down to caring for your students and treating them with respect regardless of their backgrounds and also taking them like your brothers and sisters or children.

    Good luck.

  6. They made learning fun.  They weren't mean and didn't drone on and on.  I swear my 3rd grade teacher hated children, I never understood why she was a teacher.  Just to torture us I guess.

  7. my fav teacher is friendly, cool, treats us like her friends but is also strict when it comes to teaching and stuff, listens to our opinions, share with us about her life( how she met her husband; about her children, atc.)coz we love to hear about her life!hehe.., next, she treats us all equally!

  8. Being able to balance your sense of humor with classroom discipline and being able to make each student feel important are the qualities I saw in my favorite teachers and those of my children.

Try to find the level you are most comfortable with. I have always preferred pre-school to 4th grade whereas my husband does best with middle school - grades 6 to 8.  Until I started substitute teaching, I didn't think I'd like high school, but found that I actually enjoyed that age, too.

  9. lool

  10. my favorite teachers

    were always the ones

    that were actually interested

    in their students and always

    strived to make each lesson

    not only educational but enjoyable.
