Sometimes after I wash my clothes, some color t-shirts come out with spot that have no color. I don't use bleach and this usually happens to lite blue clothing.

  1. Acne medication can cause bleach spots, and that is due to the benzoyl peroxide, so when you put it in the wash the water activates it and leaves your clothes with color loss.  If you don't use an acne medicine, it could be residual bleach left in the washer.  Or if you use a pre spotter on your clothes it could be causing it, or possible oxy whatever, since it is peroxide base.  Very good questin though.

  2. Before adding the detergent, mix it up with a quart of warm water. That way it won't touch the fabric in its concentrated form.

  3. Wash you clothes inside out. Saves the color

  4. Put 1 cup of vinegar in the rinse water that will lock the color in once and for all. Oh and always when washing any clothes put the detergent in first, fill with water, then agitation, then add clothes. Most times... putting the clothes in first and then detergent on top will discolor clothes no matter what kind of detergent is used.

  5. do you use color safe soap.

  6. There must be bleach or some sort of bleaching agent in or near your washer that your clothes are coming in contact with.  I've had bleach drip or splash and land on something that I didn't see until it was too late to do anything about it.
