Why when i change my color scheme for my yahoo page does it remain a background white?blah?

The colour scheme does not alter the white background.

To get the background color to change, you need to select from the Textures, Environment, Passion or Seasonal options.  These actually act more like a theme than a color.  If you select a color option, it just changes the color of the module frames and page background, not the background inside the module frames.
