Why when i close my eyes?

why do i see coloured dots?

did you look at somthing very bright with lots of colors, cuz if ya did then you might see colored dots. it will wear off, but if you didnt and it keeps happeinng, see a docter

most people do I think. Sometimes when you look in the light then close your eyes you'll see circles.

Right before you close your eyes, the image of what you were looking at becomes burned onto your retinas, keeping a faint outline of the image there for a few moments. Don't worry, it's normal and it happens to everybody.

If it bothers you, I suggest, if you can, dim the lights before you close your eyes.

Also, if, after closing your eyes, you keep them closed for a little while, then open them in the dark, you'll find you can see better and perceive objects better than if you would have just closed and opened your eyes.

When you have your eyes open, light bouncing off all objects enters your eyes and allows you to 'see' them.  This happens because receptors in your eyes become stimulated by light of various colors and send a signal to your brain.

When you have your eyes closed, the same receptors can be stimulated by the sensation of your eyelid touching your eyeball and creating pressure.  Thus, you see some bright or colored spots where there is pressure.

Also, when you look at spots of bright light like the sun, spots off water, a light bulb, the receptors may continue to be stimulated creating a lingering image even when you close your eyes.

This is probably because you have been in a room with a lot of light and when closing you eyes you see the light again but usually in a red, orange, yellow, purple or pink colour.

well do u stare at the lights and then close them ...well its because of the lights...

but i heard if you get migranes...you see dots when u close ur eyes...
