When someone fails a class in high school they have the ability to take an exceptionally easier, 2month class in summer school to pass.

I know you have to pay for summer school, but is it right that some kids can slack off all year ,and then take a easy, short class in summer school? While other put forward effort and work.

The reason i say this:

I have friends in summer school, and they have told me summer school is very easy, also easier then regular classes.

Also have you ever heard of someone failing summer school?

Very rare occurrence ,while failing a class is a very common one.

(i know it looks bad for colleges, but then everyone who doesn't want to go to college can easily sleep through high school and pass.)

  1. well think of it this way. everyone start off school at the same time and end school at the same time. If a student who puts a lot of effort and hard work throughout the years in High school, he/she can avoid going to summer school and take the summer off. If a student slacks and sleep during the time they spend in high school then wind up in summer school, thats a whole another month wasted without any time to spare for entertainment. Summer school is like a punishment for students who fools around. It is true that summer school is much easier but when it appears in a student's transcript, colleges will look down. if a student don't want to attend college and sleep their entire life it's up to them. A good student will have a bright future with loads of money, while a bad student will regret everything and wish everything would rewind. trust me your friends will not like the future ahead of them if they keep on slacking. you on the other hand, if u continue doing well and graduate college with a successful degree, everyone will look up to u and all your slacker friends will feel jealous. life is difficult but everyone got to learn and surpass what is in store for them

  2. High school is a joke regardless whether its semester or summer school. High school prepares you very little for college because you are not required to know ANYTHING. You are not required to study ANYTHING.

Just do homework, show up, and you will pass. Try a little bit, and you will have a 3.5+ GPA.

If you fail a class, you already sending a message to the colleges and your high school that you do not plan to go to a university straight after high school. High school classes are impossible to fail unless you really don't give a c**p about school. At that point, its the high school's job to do whatever they can to make sure they graduate that student who doesn't give a c**p.

High school's #1 priority is to make sure they can graduate as many people per year as possible. They are paid that way. Preparing students for college is not their #1 priority.. sorry.

  3. I have not been in school for quite a while but when I was in high school there was a program called CE2 and it was focused on "career education".. allot of the kids including a friend of mine got a regular diploma by completeing the program, but she couldn't really do basic math when she finished high school.  No joke she really couldn't do BASIC math problems but everyone else who wasnt in that class had to to all that stuff.  I went to summer school too but it consisted of going to a community college to make up credits, and it wasn't easy by any means.

  4. I've always wondered about that. My brother failed English 10 and he went to summer school for 17 days for 4 hours a day. And they gave him credit for the class. In NC you don't even have to pay for it and they provide transportation. He didn't even have to take a test at the end. It's really sad that you can fail the whole year, do easy work for like 3 weeks and pass a class.
