Why when you ask someone if they want something they say,What kind do you have?

Two people were walking close by and we offered them someting to drink out of a cooler and they said, what kind do you have.

Easy, because they may not like what you have to offer.

Because coke and pepsi have dead rats in them and mountain dew is usually poisoned and any diet is just, well need I explain further? Very few sodas are actually drinkable. That's why they have to ask what kind you have.

To some people it's a matter of taste.. Why not ask what a host/hostess has to offer.  Someone might have an allergy/sickness to a certain product or simply NOT like what's in the cooler.  Personally, if someone offered me a drink and I took something I didn't like and then dumped it down the drain.. That's wasteful AND disrespectful to the host!  So, I would ask.... Then either accept/decline...

maybe cause the waitress is so pretty they just want them to stay longer? i really dont know lol.
