We never have open windows or anything like that But I find that when the bananas or avacados sit out and get too ripe we notice these little fruit flies all of a sudden. Where did they come from? They are not coming from outside. Also, how to get rid of them, The fruit is disposed of immediately, however, the flies seem to always be near the sink and I am a very clean person but cannot seem to get ride of them.

  1. all this is not required !....u wud have to create vacuum in ur room if u want it not to happen!

air is everywhere as u know. n u also know dat micro organisms, dust particles, pollen grains n also EGGS OF VARIOUS INSECTS also travel thru air as they r absolutely light in weight n ARE NOT SEEN WID NAKED EYE!

so, even if u close d Doors n windows or even cover d fruit wid somthing,  the eggs were already present on its surface. n wen they hatch, wat do u see?.....the fruit flies!

  3. The fruit supports the growth of yeasts when it is starting to spoil. This changes the scent and attracts the flies. Do you ever open a door to go out? If you do fruit flies can come in.

  4. Fruit flies are commonly found in nature.  They are attracted to very ripe fruit and fermenting fruit.  They especially are attracted to vinegar odor.  Although you may try not to let flies into the house, any time you open the door there is a chance for the flies to enter the house.  Once the ripe fruit is disposed of, the flies will eventually die.  Or you could use a flying insect spray.  Personally, I'd rather not breathe the fumes from the insect spray!
