Sometimes they are dark green, and some people have them in their windows. And i always see them when i'm out in the country as opposed to the suburbs. Thanks!

  1. This is very interesting. Is it a star that you see, or something on the house?

I am interested in this matter!

I look forward to any dicussions about this event.

    thanks Mark S.

  2. Out in...Amish country?  Do you mean Amish stars?  Pennsylvania Dutch, maybe?

They're good luck, protection, that sort of thing.  An old-school tradition (like the answer above.)

I have a couple of them myself.  I like stars.

  3. I believe what you're talking about are: Hex Signs.  They are an old world tradition meant to ward off evil and invoke good luck.

  4. i think they mean welcome

  5. Well if out in the country you mean Texas cattle farms and such, the star is a prominent symbol for Texas pride and is often displayed as a Lone Star, ie. the Lone Star State.

It's just a thing, just like country blue and blue birds are in grandma's kitchy kitchen.
