Why whinge about your home team?

OK, Englands performance wasn't as good as fans hoped for, but I am so sick of hearing people slag off their team. If they win against South Africa they will be heroes and no one will even remember the USA game. If you remember the last world cup England had a few dodgey games in the early rounds and then went on to win the cup. Being a fan is about supporting your team, since when did calling them 'pathetic' and a 'joke' constitute support. I think people that make these comments aren't fans, they are synical whingers who have nothing better to do.

Hear Hear ! I always say that you should support your team through the good and the bad. Same goes for Football.

i don't think its whinging in a lot of cases, more that we want to see them perform to the best of their ability.  We know that we are good enough to beat USA by a lot more than we did.  The truth is we didn't play very well and if we don't improve we wont get very far in this world cup, that is stating the facts. If we just accept bad performaces like that then you are asking for mediocrity, if you want to be the best in the world then you have to demand good performances every match, which is why we moan.

I will agree however that the people who just say oh were rubbish we've got no chance should just shut up because thats not helpful.  We should talk about what went wrong in the last game and demand more in the next but still remain positive that we have the quality in this team to beat South Africa next week.

Come on England!

I fully agree with you mate.

I also thought that England didn't play so badly, USA just played really well. Big ups to the yanks.

And . . . England did actually win without blowing up and over cooking themselves before they play RSA, so why all tears ?

okie...England only won the last world cup because of a last minuite Drop Goal! Fans should support their home country no matter what! But England did not play well against USA! I have and always will support New Zealand as that is where im From and they are my team. You should continue to support England, but remember in the end rugby is only a game!
