Question:

Why will my Venus Fly Trap not catch anything?

I have been watering the fly trap every day, and there are plenty of traps on it.

Even when flies are near it, it won't catch anything.

If flies die naturally and I out the fly into the trap, the trap closes but doesn't digest it, and eventually reopens after a few days, fly still intact.

What am I doing wrong?

  1. Not hungry?

  2. it only eats certain flys or ur not keeping it in enough mousture

  3. vegetarian maybe........ omg that means it would be a cannibal

  4. first of all, flys arent their food, they are more like vitamins for it, like a supplement kinda..........

Mine never attracted any flys either, so if it went a LONG time without a fly, i would gently swat a fly, just enough to injure or kill it, and i give it to the VFT. Dont give it TOO many, i mean, they wouldnt catch a TON on its own in its natural habitat!

Soil and surroundings need lots of moisture, and yopu need the right soil.

    GOOD LUCK!
