Question:

Why will my WLAN mini-card not work? how do i fix it?

ok, so i went to network connections, and clicked on "wireless network connection". Under "general" it says my Mini-card isn't working. is this something that happens often? is there some way to help me?

  1. Several things can cause the issue. The number one cause is the driver is not working correctly. Since I don't know which OS, I'll take a guess at Windows XP,  Try the quick fix first. Right click on MyComputer, Select the Properties Tag. Then click the Hardware Tab on the the properties screen. Click the Device Manager - You should see your wireless card under the Network Devices.. click on it and hit the Delete Key - It will ask if you want to remove the device click yes and then close out the screens. Reboot your computer. The card should get "redetected and re-installed"  Then see if it works.  

    If not you will have to go to the manufacturers site for your computer and get the correct DRIVER for the wifi card!

    OH, and if this is a LAPTOP - Be sure that the wireless is turned on.. there usually is a switch to turn the wireless off so just be sure it is on!
