Why will my fax machine only send a partial segment of the fax?

Any possibilities what it is that i can explore?

I've been messing with it for a while, it can now receive faxes fine, but for some reason, whenever i send a fax, it says "a communication error occurred during the transaction" and only the top few centimeters comes out on the recipient machine.

P.S. It's a HP Officejet 4355

Good question hmm the only thing that comes to mind is checking the faxs global settings is there anyway u can check to see perhaps the setting on the fax is set to a paper default that is not 8X10  im not too familiar with the modle u are asking about but mine has a ton of different and weird paper settings and not having the exact one or the layout correct       ( horizontal vertical landscape portrait etc etc ) really messed things up for me at least maybe thats it? good luck
