  1. First check the spark plug. Make sure there are no carbon deposits, especially between the gaps. Clean if necessary. Is the spark plug wet with gas. This may mean your choke or the carburator is flooding the cylinder. Ground the spark plug and see if you see a spark when you pull the starter cord. You'll need to cover the area so it would be dark enough to see the spark. Make sure the plug wire snaps into the spark plug tip and is making a good electrical contact and at the distributor end.

If all this is fine, remove the air filter and spray some carburetor cleaner into the air intake and try to start it a few times. If it starts but quits after few seconds, you have a fuel delivery system problem. Make sure the bottom of the gas tank where the gas exits is free of any debris. If none of this fixes it, sounds like the carburator needs service.

    Good luck...

  2. does it need gas?  or need to be primed?  or is the blade stuck with something? This just happened to me... but it was bc my goofy fiance put oil in the gas tank... hes  a little lost at times... good luck!
