Why will my medion laptop play commercial dvd's but will not recognize home recorded dvd-r discs, if a blank

disc is in the drive it shows up in(my computer) but as soon as it is recorded on my philips 3480 dvdr and finalized the laptop will say no media is loaded, I have power dvd and other media players none will recognise these dvd-r discs these are kodak brand any not too technical ideas would be appreciated...the dvd-r discs will play on my household players and a rather fussy portable player with no problems..

Hi Albert,

That is strange. I don't think different media is going to change it. The fact that other players recognize them tells me it isn't likely a media issue.

My suggestion is to download the latest drivers for you DVD drive. I think you have an issue with your drivers for your computers DVD.

Have you tried other media, do you get the same thing?
