Why will my plumb line not stop moving when i want to mark out a line on a 250m high tower from top to bottom?

  1. The building is probably swaying.


  2. The wind?

  3. High towers have to swing in the wind in order to minimise stress in the structure which could result in collapse.

  4. Wind and building sway, since you are a painter you need plumb line other wise you will use theodolite machine

  5. This is a joke? Why on earth would you want to put a PL down a building that high?

  6. Either the wind is blowing, or there is a draft, or you have set up vibrations in the line that haven't died down, or the line is acting like a 250 metre long pendulum.
