Why will my volume license key of Windows XP Pro SP2 not work in Sun Virtualbox?

I have a site license, and I'm typing the product key exactly. What am I doing wrong?

  1. Are you sure it's the correct key for the version of Windows you're trying to install? Volume License keys don't work with standard OEM or retail versions of XP. Does the key work if Windows is installed outside of Virtualbox?


  2. The problem may be that windows does not like installing on anything except for hard drives it will not install on a USB hard drive so it probably will not install on a virtual drive you will have to check with Sun to find out how to do it
