Why will no one hire me?????

Question

I'm 18 years old and I have applied to 10 different places and some places twice. I have no criminal record, never tried drugs never drank and still I can't seem to get a job at all. The other day i applied to a place where it said "Now hiring" on the door and two of my friends who are going to college will be leaving soon so im thinking thats two positions open that I could take from them and I apply and two days later I get a email saying "we were unable to offer you a position.

You may have to apply at 20 or more places until you get a job. Just keep trying.

When looking for an entry level job it is appearances that count.  Hiring managers want a nice clean cut, well dressed, clean shaven, polite young person who has good posture, good grades and acts respectful.

If you are looking for a white collar job it would also help if you are going to college.  Not only will that open some doors for you, but college graduates tend to make a lot more money over the course of their careers.  (If money is tight you can always go to the local community college.)

If you do decide to go to college be sure to ask any prospective employer if they offer any tuition assistance.  

You may think it is a crock, but they -- not you -- are making the rules and if you don't play by their rules -- you lose.
