Why will nobody listen to me?

Hello, I come on here quite infrequently because it seems as if I don't get anywhere with any health care professional whatsoever and am wondering whether some people on here MIGHT be able to. At least my concerns get heard.

It has been nearly 12 months since me and my fiance have been trying to get pregnant!!!

Recently this month I was 9 days late but then got my period. Then this lasted for 5 days, but was abnormal, then stopped then 2 days later I got light brown coloured discharge (which has gone again) but I am continuing to have occasional cramping similar to period pains. I did a test this morning - NEGATIVE :(

I rang NHS Direct who stated I should do a test cos it did sound like there was a high possibility I am pregnant - ALSO my m8's wife had same symptoms of me and found out she was pregnant!!!

PLEASE PLEASE OFFER ME SOME SORT OF GUIDANCE/ADVICE/HELP - I AM NOW AT MY ENTIRE WITS END

  1. Go to your physician

  2. are you doing a temperature chart? this will give you a clue as to pregnancy or not.temp goes up at ovulation  and stays up until a period comes then it goes back to pre ovulation temp, but if pregnant your temp goes even higher than ovulation temp an stays there...the delayed /abnormal period could be due to stress..i know its easier said than done but try not to stress as it could trigger a miscarriage if you are pregnant...if you arnt charting temps then i suggest you do so to help you in the future...good luck!!

a blood test would tell you more accuratly than a urine one.ask them to do a hcg levels check and not just a hcg test so you know exactly how high your levels are.if the levels are between 5-10 its a possible pregnancy, over 10 is a deff pregnancy

  3. I have heard of wanting to be pregnant so bad that it throws your body into thinking it is. however it may have nothing to do with pregnancy. I started having symptoms similar to this in my early 20's but it was cysts on my overies and it made it difficult to get pregnant(I wasnt trying either)

if you dont like your doctors then I would change to one that has time to listen. doctors these days are way overscheduled and dont have time.

    good luck

  4. Could be Endometriosis[not serious] or Ectopic Pregnancy[serious]. insist on a referal to a gynacologist.

  5. Well, I'm not sure how much advice I can offer you, although I can tell you when my girlfriend and I found out she was pregnant, she was having a lot more than just what seemed to be menstrual cramps, she was having pains so bad that she was in tears and couldn't move, plus she was feeling very ill to her stomach and vomiting, she was only 4 weeks pregnant at the time, the only thing I can suggest is going to a physician or even a hospital, tell them you are having pains in your stomach and want to be tested for pregnancy, they will do a urine/blood test which is a lot more accurate than any thing you will buy at the store, good luck!
